CSD3 measures the sunshine hours. According to the definition of WMO, sunshine hours refer to the period during which direct solar radiation exceeds 120 W/m ².
This instrument has no moving parts and uses a specially designed diffuser with three photodiodes for simulation calculations under sunlight. Switching the output high or low indicates whether it is under clear weather conditions. You can also use the calculated direct irradiance. The working power supply of CSD3 is 12VDC, with a built-in heater to eliminate rain, snow, and frost. Usually switched externally, but you can choose to install an internal thermostat to control the temperature. The humidity indicator can clearly indicate when it is necessary to replace the drying box. Waterproof plug socket cable connectors can facilitate the installation and maintenance of instruments. The drying box is fixed with large screws for easy replacement and longer replacement intervals.
